LANG SUAN · BANGKOK
A quiet moment for scent and conversation. An intimate salon bar in Lang Suan.
Our storyOur story
Imagine an alchemist travelling east in the 1920s. His private cabin is the starting point for our salon.
KOUJI ALCHEMIST by salon du japonisant brings together the atmosphere of Art Deco and Japanese aesthetics. Opened in February 2026 at Velaa Sindhorn Village, this small bar in Lang Suan is a place to step away from the city’s pace and settle into conversation.
Koji gives the name its roots in Japanese fermentation. Alchemy expresses our curiosity about the origins of ingredients, their distinctive aromas, and how a conversation can shape an evening. We value quiet, curiosity and a sense of closeness.
BANGKOK, SINCE 2026Quiet · Curiosity · Connection
The point of view
An interest in Japanese culture, expressed through the room, the details and the way we welcome each guest.
We begin by listening: to the aromas you enjoy, your preferences and anything you would like to avoid. Thoughtful service means finding a direction together, with attention to the details.
Understand the ingredients
Care in every detail
Listen to each guest
The craft

Our approach connects Japanese fermentation, the exploration of aroma and the person across the counter.
Koji is part of the story of sake and shochu. It is where our exploration begins: with the ingredients, their origins and the people who make them.
Ingredients and drinks each have their own distinctive aromas. We value learning about these differences and their origins, and discovering personal preferences through conversation.
A conversation about the aromas you enjoy and how you feel that evening guides our approach. Listening is as much a part of the craft as working with ingredients.
The salon
Warm wood, leather seating, brass details and a marble counter set the scene. Inspired by a traveller’s private cabin, the room is intended for unhurried conversation, shared discoveries and comfortable moments of quiet.
